A Much Needed Update
I have been quiet for a while and neglected to keep you up to date on life in the Garden Route. Life has been busy the last couple months, except for a holiday to Plettenberg Bay with my Parents, Aunt and Uncle, we have had very little time to relax and take time-out for ourselves.
All the photographs in the above gallery were taken by my father while in Plettenberg Bay. The weather was kind to us for a couple days before turning chilly and overcast. We did take advantage of the good weather while it lasted though, spending time on the beach and exploring the town of Plettenberg Bay. We had a most amazing view of the beach and ocean from the house, and even had the pleasure of watching whales breaching. On one outing to the Old Nick, a local craft shopping centre which is definitely a destination I would recommend, we stumbled across some 19th century power looms in use. It was amazing seeing these large machines still in use churning out beautiful woven fabric.
As you know I had every intention of knitting some Christmas gifts this year, unfortunately I became distracted on our Plettenberg Bay trip by Manu by Kate Davies. I did finish the bunny in a dotty dress, which will be a stocking filler for Alice and I have a couple ideas for some other crafty gifts which I will share in the coming weeks.
